The Ask Yogi Marlon DVD series is designed to stand as single DVD’s alone or to work together as a complete curriculum. Each DVD has an introduction to me and “Thoughts On Practice” that advise you how to best approach the multiple 25-minute practices that follow. In each practice, you learn the same yoga postures taught in an often-pricey yoga studio. You will also find fully explained pranayamas (breathing exercises), bandhas, mudras, kriyas with bits of Vedic philosophy throughout, which seem to be fast vanishing from the knowledge base of many commercial Western yoga studios. There’s a lot more to yoga than exercise!
You should do each practice in the order they are presented on the DVD menu at first, to insure safety and stress relief. As soon as your flexibility and strength increase enough so one practice feels easy, go on to the next, always at your own pace. When each of them is doable, feel free to choose the single practice that fits how you’d like to feel by the completion of it. Trying all of the DVD’s provides comprehensive look into yoga as it has been taught for over 5000 years.
